[INFO] Tournament Outline for 2nd Half of 2021

Good Day SEA Mercs!

A huge thank you for the support you have shown us in the 1st Half of 2021 in our Doyens of Death & Championship Tussle tournaments. Building on the momentum, we are pleased to present the current (tentative) plan for the next half of the year.

Championship Tussle Qualifier 1: 26 Sep [Round 1 & 2]; 3 Oct [Round 3 & 4 & 5]

  • Registration will open on 26 Aug (8 PM UTC+8) and will end promptly on 29 Aug (12 PM UTC+8)
  • Qualifier 1 will feature 12-16 teams (depending on the response)
  • 1 slot will be reserved for an India Team
  • 1 slot will be reserved for a Filipino Team
  • 2 slots will be reserved for the 1st & 3rd placed teams from Championship Tussle [June 2021]
  • The remaining slots will be opened to the public on a first come first serve basis.
  • Single elimination format. Rules & Restrictions will be very similar to Championship Tussle [June 2021]
  • The top 4 teams of Qualifier 1 will be invited to participate in the Grand Finale in December 2021.
  • Rewards will be given.
  • There will be a live stream although not all matches can be showcased as matches can occur concurrently.


Championship Tussle Qualifier 2: October 2021

  • Qualifier 2 will feature 12-16 teams (depending on the response)
  • 1 slot will be reserved for an India Team
  • 1 slot will be reserved for a Filipino Team
  • 2 slots will be reserved for the 2nd & 4th placed teams from Championship Tussle [June 2021]
  • The remaining slots will be opened to the public on a first come first serve basis.
  • Single elimination format. Rules & Restrictions will be very similar to Championship Tussle [June 2021]
  • The top 4 teams of Qualifier 2 will be invited to participate in the Grand Finale in December 2021.
  • The top 4 teams of Qualifier 1 can no longer participate in Qualifier 2.
  • Rewards will be given.
  • There will be a live stream although not all matches can be showcased as matches can occur concurrently.


Show-matches/Scrims/Tournament Preparation: November 2021

  • The 8 teams that have qualified for the Grand Finale will be invited for friendly matches with each other. This will be facilitated by the GM Team.
  • Teams are also encouraged to arrange their own friendly matches as the GM Team will only arrange a limited number of matches that we will live stream/showcase on YouTube.


Championship Tussle Grand Finale: December 2021

  • The top 4 teams from each Qualifier will battle it out in the Grand Finale.
  • The format of the tournament is to be determined. More information will be released next time. But you can expect to play more than 1 match even if you lose (i.e. it will probably not be a single-elimination format).
  • Rules & Restrictions will be very similar to Championship Tussle [June 2021]
  • All matches will be showcased on live-stream.
  • Participants will be rewarded accordingly. We are in discussions about the format and amount but we believe they'll be even more attractive!
  • Customised call-sign will be given to Champions and Top 3 teams will be featured on our website.


We strongly encourage you to start forming your teams well in advance so that you are able to register as early as possible to prevent disappointment. The registration dates will be updated here closer to the date so keep an eye on this post!
