FourWinds Amsterdam is exit

The game is dead. Playing 14-16 hours a day was not enough to keep the comp. up. I'm tired of walking alone in Amsterdam. The game is killed because of greed from sailors and pay to win. So be it. My 18 toons are out. I wish you all the best. Goodbye. I will not return. Greetz, Maurits.

  • Takes more than time to run a company. Need scouts, advertisements, perks, events, competition, tons or management some may disagree here but someone with a Big personalities to draw people. I know Amsterdam seems dead not many have a reason to travel there so not much foot traffic so have to recruit in Seville and London and mentor new players too.

I dont think you should give up just change your approach. I used to pay people to advertise my company, I used to auction and company members got a discount, some companies gave free ships some , some pirated people, some had godlike shipbuilders, some have chatty world chat people all of that draws people so.

Charisma, Energy, Marketing, Notoriety, Cohesion and Controversy builds companies always been that way.

    Dont give up come back

  • Also Amsterdam people should do more players events there like in person auctions or mock battle league Amsterdam division. Players make cities and companies pop if your city is dead do things to make it pop.

  • Although i'm an english player, the company i'm with is in Amnsterdam (Freedom Hunters).. Back on Gama I was deputy there and we had a slump in signups since our director and second deputy went on an extended hiatus from the game so i had to run it for like 6 months. It was alot of work maintaining the contributions and trying to moderate the company. I didn't take deputy here on Maris but I can relate to frustrations although i never went though the whole process of building a company and colony from the ground up. Sorry to hear you leave.

  • I was left as director of the Misfits Company out of Lisbon, when the previous director and his wife left.

I had zero experience and not much of an idea of what to do.

We were down to only 5 members and I seriously considered dropping out myself, but I thought, do what you can, and see what happens.

I started talking to the 4 remaining players, and asked for their help in rebuilding.

Just the fact that I cared and communicated was enough to keep them on board.

We are now 26 in total, and we continue to grow every month.

I think this game grows and gets better when others care and communicate.

I hope Uncharted Waters is fun, rewarding, and a great "get away" from other problems of the day.

Thank you for the comments. I'm running FourWinds again, like I did in the past. So it will be my Comp again from now on. So: FourWinds is still alive. Although I have to build it up again from 0 (Everything was deleted) . Not recruiting atm. First need to have some nice lvls, Colony etc. But working on that, with help of DutchLisa (Dep.). @ purplepir* : When I started sailing like 12 years ago, i was in the comp of Daniel-San. :-) Not Freedom Hunters at that time. I think it was Knights of the Round Table back then. But not sure. Daniel-San helped me a lot. :-) I was AlcmariaVictrix 12 years ago.

Like I said: I'm running FourWinds again, like I did in the past. But why delete it and start again after a few weeks? Well: I didn't delete it. Sounds confusing, but the thing is: 2 persons living in the same house, sharing all 18 accounts. That's the reason why we could be online for 16 hours a day. I started FourWinds almost 12 years ago and also after relaunch on Papaya. He killed the comp more than once ( He's alcohol and drugs addict ). But that's in the past now. He's gone (Game and RL) and I run the comp. and all accounts alone now. FourWinds is back to stay.

    Greetz,

    Heiko
