An urgent proposal for the developers..
Listen folks, I can respect that their are still SOME players but I think it would be prudent if Latale could branch off a bit from its current iteration. My drastic suggestion is to make a copy of the server and roll it back to day 1 (Papaya) or to somehow recover a previous build of the game from around the same frame of time and put it into active service. Furthermore to have this "copy" server almost never get anymore updates except maybe for some cash shop rotations + maybe some minor end game adjustments, etc.
Don't get me wrong, I still very much like Latale. (good pace of updates + many other positives) But the technical issues with the resolution are quite disturbing. If there was a good way to adjust then it wouldnt be so noticeable but it is not in a good place. Another area of concern is the addition of system after system for boosting power. It might be fine for veterans but there is a lot of convoluted stuff flying around and its really not newbie friendly at all. I played OGP Latale and even I think that there is a lot to digest if you have not been keeping up with the changes. It also feels like the larger over arching story starts to get a little less impactful past a certain point. I'm also not a fan of the pc resources that are apparently needed for the game. With the kinds of requirements I'm seeing, those demands are on par with a game like Final Fantasy XV or something which should not be the case.
Previously I had reservations about suggesting that Latale make an old style server because I wanted to see what was coming next. But now I would say it is almost a critical necessity to offer some sort of Low spec alternative to the main game. As it stands now, I WANT to be able recommend Latale but it would be the one from 6 or 10 years ago. Even with the grindyness from the past that would still be a better fate than having a game that looks good but the balance for nearly everything else is off. I like frosting on my cake as much as anyone but if you give me a cake that is almost entirely frosting, it might taste good for a while but I can't eat that, its just gonna make me sick.
I propose keeping one server for all of the high end extras, items and w/e BUT also creating a simple and somewhat basic server and maybe just work on its polish and optimization from time to time. That is how I think Latale can somewhat compete with other similar games.
