After the Skills boost, I started working on Legacy Quests. I completed all 7/7 of the Aroma Theme discoveries. 5/7 of the Rhodes Legacy Discoveries and 4/7 of the Ephesus Legacy Discoveries. I still get a lot of repeats, and have over 19,000 Sophia points. I have picked up the Detonics skill and have the Titles Bonfire Researcher 11 * and Cannonsmith (Armor-piercing) 9* so far. At the next skills boost I will do Battle Reports and use my new Exploder type cannons.

I have found that there is a definite advantage for making $$ if you are English. It is definitely harder at lower levels, but if you persist and make it to the endgame of EA trade. WuXu Porcelain is the best item in the game. If you can pair this with a Legendary Tycoon or Millionaire title, you can do wonders as English. The advantage over Huzhou Brushes or Saori in Iberia, is that in England, Craft items frequently have a high %trade. While milling around doing Legacy quests, I have found Crafts are frequently at +%120. I have seen over %130 and have made trades for Wuxu as high as +70,000 per trade good.

By doing a bit of trade grinding, I get my aide up to level 68/74/67. I make a new Susan Constant from scratch and max out the cargo to 1111 for my aide. I am the lead ship, so my aide can't be in a steamship because it slows the lead ship.
I completed 7/7 of the Ephesus Legacy and now only have 2 of the Rhodes Discoveries to go. It will be challenging as I have to get strange armor from the Candia SoW. I went 3 times. and got 34 paper fragments and 0 "Strange" Equipment. I need +5 Strange plates to make Hyper plating as one of the clues for a legacy discovery that I am missing. The other clue that i need to get is also very hard. It comes from raising a Ship Wreck in the North Sea. I have raised many wrecks recently and 0 were from the North Sea. Sigh.

After obtaining the new Chair Craftsman Title, I am working on increasing my levels in that. It is hard because the correct way to increase the production level is to use a high level handicraft recipe at the TownWoman's recipe in Florence. The problem is that using the recipe uses 200 Handicraft Contribution points per production. or x 5 = 1000 points of handicraft contribution to raise your Chair Craftsman title by 1*. There is a maximum gain of 999 handicraft contribution per week!... So it will take me 10 weeks to hit the 12* Chair Craftsman production title.

I also did the bonfire research..12* now, and Cannonsmith Armor-Piercing research 12*now. It just requires high level handicraft production (book) or high level casting at the company offices production.

I made a few sets of the Armor Piercing cannons and did one Battle report while in the Maritime Mentor Job. It is the only job that prefers the new Detonics skill. I grind my Detonics up to R4 and obtain the title Cannonsmith (Fracturing Explosives). To grind up the Canonsmith title, you have to do high level production at your Industrial Revolution Town.

After the skill boost started this week, I worked on Weapons Trading and made R13+2 refined. I also got my Seasoning Trading up to R15+2 refined.
Besides weapons trading, I still have to work on Art Trading, Sundries, Medicine and Firearms Trading. they are all close to Max, but will still take time as it takes me time to collect up the correct PO's to do the grind.

There is a skill boost starting on the 5th. I decide to do a Gunfire grind. I am at R14+2R 3350 and end at 9000 after a few days. I spend most of that time in the Colosseum doing Aide missions and in the Bordeaux dungeon. I did Bordeaux x 15 and got Strange Short sword for the Memorial Album "Treasure Buried in Catacomb" I still have one more item to complete that album. My aide gains a martime level and is now 68/74/68.

To end the skill boost I do one more Eco Recognition grind in EA discovering R15 river sharks.
Have been playing on and off, but mostly just helping other players in one of the companies I have alts in. I have completed 41 out of 42 of the Legacy quest discoveries. The last one is extremely hard as the last critical clue for this discovery is to raise a Ship wreck in the north sea. I have done maybe 40 SW.. one of them was in the North Sea used all the correct clues and still did not get the correct legacy discovery. Just another duplicate. For Sophia points, I have over 24,000 and am rank 7. After not getting the correct clue, I just picked the 7 easiest clues and started doing the Legacy quest. 4/4 duplicates. That last clue, is just a pain to get.

During the NA Thanksgiving Festival, I help a player unlock Boston College. I help them refine Cooking and show them how to do the chicken/egg trick and while gaining a ton of XP, to research and report 40 Boston Thesis (The same cooking Thesis at Ben Franklin) and to unlock building 2-3-4. I told them after Boston, to go to San Fran and stand by the Scholar and do the same thing with the basic production thesis and report 40 of those and unlock all of Oxford 2-3-4 buildings.

As for me, I am doing some Battle Reports in India. It is safe waters and can do about 1000 pts of rowing/plunder and assault for each BR. (during the skill boost)
Did an Assault, Plunder, Rowing grind this last boost. I was in India and did 3 Battle Reports in a row. Did about 6000, Assault, Plunder and 4000 skill points in Row. I made R12 Rowing. I also did one run of 20 R15 Bio maps in EA again.

Oover the last few weeks I did another run of Bio Maps and a couple Battle Reports grinding row which is now R12, Assault is now R14. and gained a 2000 more skill in Plunder. I also did a hundred Colosseum missions with my aide. My aide is now 191/195 and I made R15 gunfire. I will have tool be in Musketeer if I want to grind that more. Too bad the Musketeer growth only affects Reload and not Gunfire.

The new Legacy theme has been unlocked, but I am stuck on the one clue for Rhodes that requires a SW in the north Sea. Ugh.
I am getting discouraged with SW and Legacy. I am trying to pull a SW in the North sea. I have 6 clues and need that last one. I have pulled maybe 60 or so SW and am now at 887 SW raised. Still no North Sea.

A Shipwreck raising competition started Mar 2, and i have left my Legacy clues at 6 and will keep raising SW till i get a North Sea one. Was already 30 SWs deep before the SW competition started. Took another 37 SW to finally get a SW from the North Sea. I immediately used the 7 clues all geared to finding the last 6 o'clock discovery. .. Nope.. re-discovered the 12 o'clock clue. Sigh.

I am 65 SWs into this and we have 4 more days to go. The top three prizes are choice of 3 ships. I am guessing I will finish in 11th place. I am raising around 5-6 SW per day. Oddly I am in the Pirate job using row to sail around the world. The only time i switch to Salvager job is if there is no land in site and I have no clue where the SW is.
Then by equipping the Boston College Thesis you are told the exact sea zone when you open the SW map.

While in EA raising a SW. I found Chongching in Boom so I decided to deliver goods there. Made 20 deliveries of musk and sandalwood. 50 goods per delivery. Reset, by sailing out of port till the city was not visible, then turned around and sailed/rowed back.
got three gifts from influential people. One was a duplicate EA shipbuilding techniques. The other gift was a "White Rod" which was a new item for my Memorial Album.
I am still missing 4 items from S. China and 4 items from Japan.
Raised 93 SW in the competition. Tips for getting SWMP. I am in the Salvager job with the Ship Wreck Hunter title equipped and both Boston College Salvager job skills equipped. When I search a SW. I usually average 10 SWMPs as a reward when opening all the chests. In addition I get double credit for around 4 pieces when using the Title. That accounts for 14 pieces per SW. Then I need around another 14-15 SWMP to complete the map. So to Raise 10 wrecks I only need say 140-150 SWMP instead of 280-290.

The other key thing is that I can do land battles overnight in North America and collect about 30 SWPM /per toon so thats 60/day. During the SW race, the number of SWMP from all activities increased so I could get about 40/toon or +80SWMP per day. In the end even after raising +80 Wrecks, I still had over 1000 SWMP in various inventories.

During this week's skill grind, I made R13 Art trading, R15+2 Textile trade on my alt and did two BR in India to grind Rowing, Assault and Plunder. I did not level any but gained a few thousand skill points in each skill.

Here is a new one that I almost never post about. I was geared up as a pirate (job for skills, not Red Notoriety type) just grinding melee on India West Coast. A lone pirate engaged me and started to melee me. Since I was wearing my Melee gear, I thought I would give it a go. I had also set my Boston College and Oxford Skills to maximize melee attack/defense. It was an even match and we both lost maybe 50-70 crew after a few rounds. Since I was carrying Smoke Bombs of Retreat, I thought I would retreat and just sail out of the ring. After breaking melee, I used Surgery to put my crew back to near maximum. Oddly the Pirate did not! I decided to go back and melee him again. He shot at me and did not run, I repaired until I re-engaged. I tried timing my melee style choice to appear just before the resolution so he would not be able to have any advantage. In the end I managed to actually defeat this pirate. I knew the Pirate from before and he is a decent pirate. I obtained 1500 Honor and have a blue title now. NICE!
My computer crashed mid July, so I was working off my lab top for a while. Then my lab top crapped out. Purchased a new computer.
Loaded UWO.. tried running it and for whatever reason, It would constantly kick me out every 14 minutes. Stopped playing for 7 weeks or so. The issue seemed to resolve itself. I also purchased a new lab top, so I will get back to playing soon.
I have started to just cook in Boston and will not likely do much till I hit level 95 trade.

I worked on Legacy discoveries "Olympia" and am now down to my last one for this Theme. The key missing clue is the same super hard "Raise a Ship Wreck in the Strait of Gibraltar." This is super hard as ZERO of my last 84 SW are from the Strait of Gibraltar. This is the same problem for my "Rhodes the Port City" missing legacy discovery. The clue I need for that is to raise a SW in the North Sea, and only ONE of my last 84 SW was from the North Sea. Sigh.

I collected another bunch of Bio maps from SF and went to EA. Discovered/Reported another +20 R15 River Shark Maps just outside of Hangzhou/Anping and made R14+2 Eco Recognition.

Studying Land battle combos. This comes from one of CPC's logs or posts. I have not tested them but assume they still work.
1. Oil then a bomb or oil then fire torch will do about 2x the normal damage of simply using a bomb alone
2. Antidote then a heal item will restore 2x the amount of hp
3.oil then bomb or torch then 2-4 chain techs back to back has a chance of triggering Cout de Grace which does about 30% of life gauge and paralyzes the enemy.
4. Using a health over time item like taheebo juice then a heal will make the heal do 2x the amount
doing the same legacy quest over and over. I am still trying to get that last discover from the Rhodes Legacy. 6'o clock position. Using the basic (7 non clue specific hints) and tried to get the prophecy, I have come up with 2 o'clock, 4 o'clock x 4, 12 o'clock and 0 o'clock discoveries. I am debating if I should just do SW until i get another north sea SW.

Each day I grind up my pursuit production with a Handicraft R13 recipe in Hamburg at the Town Man (Shipwright). It only takes lumber and the processed lumber recipe.. and the shipwright casting book to make repair tools, processed lumber and lumber. I also continue to supply saltpeter and sugar as components for my aide production to make smoke balls.

While doing some SW I stop and do some dungeons in EA and work on Trap skill. Ran Azuchi Castle 3-4 times.. discovered Kunishige. from the MA "Treasure Hidden in the Ancient Castle"
Obtained Jeolla Naval District Banner from deliveries (took goods from Azuchi Castle to deliver) and completed Gifts from Influential Figures No. 3!!
Have been working on melee and Cannon skills during this skill buff. The 100% skill bonus is on for an extra week.

It happened again. I was doing a BR in the Black sea and a pirate in a small ship attacked me solo. I had no guns and no plates and the pirate wanted to melee me. Oddly he attacked me in a small ship with around 150crew. My ship had 350 or so and my skills are not shabby. I defeated him. Later that day he tried again and managed to put me into great disorder. I was unable to stop it using leadership. He sailed into me and started melee. I was not wearing land battle gear, but I had a decent weapon equipped and of course lots of techs so I clicked on deck battle. The pirate ran around for 1 minute trying to evade my attacks before he was able to flee. I ended up with 1500 honor and another blue name.

Did 4 battle reports, 2 as cannoneer and 2 as Pirate. Refined my Assault skill and have grinded it back up to R6+2.

In between the Battle reports I did 2 SoW with some company mates and one new person I found on the UWO Discord Page. We failed both times. I will have to study the Leviathan and how to fix the panicked sailor status that prevents repair and surgery.
I died because the monster rammed my ship, but the other two players had "monster battle armament" as a skill on their ship. They held out well and died because we could not repair...

I will keep on working skills until the boost wears off. After that I intend to start on the new Legacy theme. I have still not found the last clue of the Rhodes Legacy at 6 o'clock. I am at 1032 SW and still have not found a SW in the North Sea in the last 50 or so.
last three days of the bonus grind. I collect 25 R15 Eco Recogniton maps and go out to Hangzhou to grind it. I gain anohter 5000 Eco Recogniton and end at 7800/15600 for that final level.

Now I am working on Trap Grind. While I am in Chongching, i run the Dungeon mid level 6 times to fill up on EA goods. I make no new discoveries from "Treasures on the Side of Buddah" My alt discovers Li Guang;s Bow, which I am still missing.

After I come back to Europe to sell the EA goods, I continue the trap grind in the Coliseum. I have made R12+2 refined Trap.
deserves it's own post. I did SoW from Candia with a company mate Munakoutei. He lent me a ship that was equipped with Monster Battle Armament. We brought a third player to assist us and two alts for repair. This was Munakoutei and my third try. We tried it on April 30th and May 1st and failed both times. The third player was an experienced SoW Monster Battle fighter. He gave me several tips. This was only the lowest monster, the regular Leviathan, not the burning or frozen Leviathan. It still took us a long time to wear the monster down, but we eventually won and I received the Leviathan Sail Crest. This crest opened a new MA page "Dragons of Phantom Seas."
Did my second ESF this weekend. Was only able to do the large ship round during the Saturday event. Not sure if there is a MA page for rewards for ESF but I suspect there is and this is one of the last areas that I have not really participated in. I will keep trying to participate in ESF and the Academy Debates until I get whatever MA reward they have.

Did my regular grinding. Tried a second SoW vs. Monster. This time was the lowest level Cetus. There were only 2 of us and it crushed us like a bug.

The game crashed and I am having difficulty reloading the game on my computer. I am running it from my lab top, but that is far from ideal. The lab top is not in an ideal position and I have to move around to actually do things. I resolved to just take this time to do some mindless grinding. Things that I can do without much mouse clicking such as the rowing grind are at the top of the list... small crew, damaged sails, on minimum speed.. with a full cargo of food/water and some lumber. From San Francisco, I just head West.. and row!

I sent a ticket to the Papaya Support. Will see how long it takes to get a reply. In case you are wondering, I uninstalled UWO from my computer and tried to reload it from the Papaya play UWO for free button.. and it says... my version of internet explorer is too old. Update it and try again. I am running windows 7. when I try to upgrade internet explorer, it tries to get me to load the newest version of Chrome, Edge or Firefox.
I have been off since my game crashed. I am just doing land battles to up my aide's land battle xp and gain attack and defence points. I also do my collections in North America to get adventure xp. If you invest in the correct Rail Road, you can get upto a 50xp bonus for each action just like during the NA Thanksgiving festival. It is still subject to the 1h/day cap for collection, but the production and land battle xp bonus never ends. I have done a ridiculous number of Boston College and Oxford Theses, because of this bonus, while I was working up my aide's trade level.

It is likely I will only be playing at a fraction of my regular rate until the level 95 cap is introduced in Chapter 3. I will be getting a new computer in the next month or so and hopefully I can reload a new UWO to run from there.
I am still off. I working on lots of items IRL. I hope they unlock the new level 95. It will be worth buying a new computer for.

I am finally back. Was off for 8 weeks or so with computer problems. I finally purchased a new computer and a new lab top. Oddly when I started with my new computer and downloaded a fresh UWO, I kept getting kicked off every 14 minutes.
Not 13 minutes and not +15 or some other random time. … Well the issue seemed to resolve itself and I am back to playing.

Since I got back, the new limit for levels is 95. I missed all the excitement as there was a huge skill/xp/fame bonus when the new 95 limit was released. It amazes me that 10 players or maybe a couple of players and their alts are already level 95 in adventure. I still have not figured out how to get 1m adventure xp per day !

There is also a new legacy quest available and some new reward chest for battles and a new pursuit production called Aether Seeker that goes with land battle.

The first thing I worked on is the new further discoveries that come with each new Legacy. They cost Sophia to take, but are really easy to do. I also unlock the Aether Seeker title and do the required production for 8 days in a row. The recipe they require to advance your Aether Seeker production skill is an R12 Alchemy Recipe at John Dee in London. I do the recipe with an outfit and emerald tablet and don’t waste money changing jobs.
Next I am working on the new Legacy theme “Alexandria the light of Wisdom”
There are two new Jobs; Capitaino and Viking. What is special about these two jobs is that Capitano is a trading job with rowing as a preferred skill and Viking is an adventure job with rowing as a preferred skill. Now I can much more easily grind my rowing skill.
It is currently R13. It should be refined in two to three months now.
There are also now 8 new Oxford skills available. 4 are related to Tow permits and the other two are Maritime. Since I normally do quite a bit of auto sailing and getting extra tow permits from the box #4 (from Lambell who appears randomly at the company colony)
I very quickly complete all 4 Oxford these that deal with tow permits and 2 that deal with Local Specialties Combo. (just buy some EA goods from an Aide Bazaar and sell it to the Market keeper to complete these in 20 minutes or so. ) I have 98 Oxford skills to choose from now. I
really like the auto Navigation Range increase. You can sail using more than 5 tow permits, greatly increasing the auto sail range. Turn on rowing at the same time and do some RL work while sailing.

I make a couple sets of 18 Carronades and sail to India to grind out the Increased Criticals Oxford thesis.
Did a few more Battle reports in India. I completed the two new theses and obtain the new Oxford skills “Increased Criticals” and “Preemptive Strike”
Kept grinding my plunder, assault and rowing skills.
When the skill boost was not on, I finally pulled up a SW from the red sea and completed the Legacy Theme “ Alexandria Light of Wisdom. Out of the 9 themes, I have fully completed 7. The last two require SW as clues.
Thanksgiving Festival is on. After I do my standard collections and tow permits/unlock chests.. I spend the day raising SW. I am still looking for SW in the North Sea and Cape. I am at SW number 1087 and have not seen a SW in either of these two sea zones in the last 100.

While sailing I get my rowing up to R14 in the Viking Job. I don’t raise SW in the Salvager job as there is no need unless there is no land on the SW map and I need to be in Job and activate Salvager’s Knowledge to find out where the SW is. In general I have never failed to raise a SW and can tow a SW at full speed with my Cruise High Clipper with Exploration refit and Haul Assist.

There is a new feature in the game that happened when I was out of action for 7-8 weeks. You now randomly get a reward chest from Land Battles or Sea Battles. I have opened about 100 chests and gotten 1 inventory increase item (best reward by far) and several forging tools, armorsmith, weaponsmith, cannon and armoring
I will keep track of the rewards from now on and give a report after the next 100 chests.
Of course I will have to split between plain, normal , splendid, and sparkling chests.
You are limited to unlocking 5 points of chests per day. A plain chest is 1 pt, normal chest is 2 pt., splendid chest 3 pts, sparkling chests 4 pts. When you do as much BR and land battles as I do, you get cluttered with plain chests that I can never unlock. I have dumped over 400 plain chests from this toon so far and will never be able to unlock them all. Hopefully by finding out what the reward distribution is, I can figure out if it is better to open 1 plain or 2 normal chests etc.
Did another 20 SW.. no luck. Stopped to do some land battles so my 3rd toon would have some chests to open in my goal to do a distribution of rewards from maritime chests. Recorded Koxinga Papers in “Treasures Lurking in the Red Castle” in my Memorial Album.
I have dumped probably 1600 Plain Treasure Chests so far as you can tell, I do lots of land battles. Here is the distribution of 251 Plain chests opened so far.

I am getting frustrated with SW. I have probably done 100 SW and have not seen a SW in Cape nor North Sea. I am up to 1124 SW’s raised now.

Two more days.. I am up to 1136 SW now. So I think that I will skip trying SW’s and just do a cycle of the generic clues for the two themes that I am missing one clue and see if I can randomly get the correct missing discovery. I will keep track of the discoveries that I get. Hopefully if I do them 7 times, I will get the one missing clue to appear.

Did more trap grind in front of the different EA dungeons vs. the 5 NPC bunched there, and multiple Azuchi Castle Runs. Lots of maritime chests, but no MA items. Still missing two items I the “Treasure Hidden in the Ancient Castle” MA.

I do lots of 30 map “River Shark” Eco Recognition discoveries. Map in SF. Discovery just outside Hangzhou. I do this run on multiple days during the skill boost and finally get R15+2 Refined Eco Recognition.

The next grind is recognition. It is not as easy. The map is only R12 and comes from Anping and is discovered just west of Guatamala. I have to sail back to Panama, take the canal and report to Balboa in Portobelo. Then I take the canal back to Panama, sail past Guatamala and make the discovery again.
With the help of collection xp, repeating the same Archive maps, Same max xp Treasure Hunt, XP from so many SW, I make level 92 Adventure. I have collected an astounding 474 Custom Haul Rope, 229 Improved Haul Rope and 217 Custom Salvage Rope. Did some runs at Mt. Emi (Chongching) and discovered “Sancai Horse” and “Spring and Autumn Dagger” MA “Treasures on the Side of Buddah.” I also did +25 deliveries to Chongching hoping to get a reward from influential people. Only got 1 reward which was a duplicate of an item I received before.

Completed a BR in India with melee and worked more on my Plunder, Assault and Rowing skill.
Had another player ask me if there is a MA album for Palenque (Veracruz Dungeon)
Ran Palenque 23 floors and opened about 100 chests did not obtain any MA items on two players so I am assuming there is no MA for this dungeon. I also noticed there are not hidden passages with treasure or danger rooms.

After the Skills boost, I started working on Legacy Quests. I completed all 7/7 of the Aroma Theme discoveries. 5/7 of the Rhodes Legacy Discoveries and 4/7 of the Ephesus Legacy Discoveries. I still get a lot of repeats, and have over 19,000 Sophia points. I have picked up the Detonics skill and have the Titles Bonfire Researcher 11 * and Cannonsmith (Armor-piercing) 9* so far. At the next skills boost I will do Battle Reports and use my new Exploder type cannons.

I have found that there is a definite advantage for making $$ if you are English. It is definitely harder at lower levels, but if you persist and make it to the endgame of EA trade. WuXu Porcelain is the best item in the game. If you can pair this with a Legendary Tycoon or Millionaire title, you can do wonders as English. The advantage over Huzhou Brushes or Saori in Iberia, is that in England, Craft items frequently have a high %trade. While milling around doing Legacy quests, I have found Crafts are frequently at +%120. I have seen over %130 and have made trades for Wuxu as high as +70,000 per trade good.

By doing a bit of trade grinding, I get my aide up to level 68/74/67. I make a new Susan Constant from scratch and max out the cargo to 1111 for my aide. I am the lead ship, so my aide can't be in a steamship because it slows the lead ship.

I completed 7/7 of the Ephesus Legacy and now only have 2 of the Rhodes Discoveries to go. It will be challenging as I have to get strange armor from the Candia SoW. I went 3 times. and got 34 paper fragments and 0 "Strange" Equipment. I need +5 Strange plates to make Hyper plating as one of the clues for a legacy discovery that I am missing. The other clue that i need to get is also very hard. It comes from raising a Ship Wreck in the North Sea. I have raised many wrecks recently and 0 were from the North Sea. Sigh.

After obtaining the new Chair Craftsman Title, I am working on increasing my levels in that. It is hard because the correct way to increase the production level is to use a high level handicraft recipe at the TownWoman's recipe in Florence. The problem is that using the recipe uses 200 Handicraft Contribution points per production. or x 5 = 1000 points of handicraft contribution to raise your Chair Craftsman title by 1*. There is a maximum gain of 999 handicraft contribution per week!... So it will take me 10 weeks to hit the 12* Chair Craftsman production title.

I also did the bonfire research..12* now, and Cannonsmith Armor-Piercing research 12*now. It just requires high level handicraft production (book) or high level casting at the company offices production.

I made a few sets of the Armor Piercing cannons and did one Battle report while in the Maritime Mentor Job. It is the only job that prefers the new Detonics skill. I grind my Detonics up to R4 and obtain the title Cannonsmith (Fracturing Explosives). To grind up the Canonsmith title, you have to do high level production at your Industrial Revolution Town.

After the skill boost started this week, I worked on Weapons Trading and made R13+2 refined. I also got my Seasoning Trading up to R15+2 refined.
Besides weapons trading, I still have to work on Art Trading, Sundries, Medicine and Firearms Trading. they are all close to Max, but will still take time as it takes me time to collect up the correct PO's to do the grind.

There is a skill boost starting on the 5th. I decide to do a Gunfire grind. I am at R14+2R 3350 and end at 9000 after a few days. I spend most of that time in the Colosseum doing Aide missions and in the Bordeaux dungeon. I did Bordeaux x 15 and got Strange Short sword for the Memorial Album "Treasure Buried in Catacomb" I still have one more item to complete that album. My aide gains a martime level and is now 68/74/68.

Have been playing on and off, but mostly just helping other players in one of the companies I have alts in. I have completed 41 out of 42 of the Legacy quest discoveries. The last one is extremely hard as the last critical clue for this discovery is to raise a Ship wreck in the north sea. I have done maybe 40 SW.. one of them was in the North Sea used all the correct clues and still did not get the correct legacy discovery. Just another duplicate. For Sophia points, I have over 24,000 and am rank 7. After not getting the correct clue, I just picked the 7 easiest clues and started doing the Legacy quest. 4/4 duplicates. That last clue, is just a pain to get.

During the NA Thanksgiving Festival, I help a player unlock Boston College. I help them refine Cooking and show them how to do the chicken/egg trick and while gaining a ton of XP, to research and report 40 Boston Thesis (The same cooking Thesis at Ben Franklin) and to unlock building 2-3-4. I told them after Boston, to go to San Fran and stand by the Scholar and do the same thing with the basic production thesis and report 40 of those and unlock all of Oxford 2-3-4 buildings.

As for me, I am doing some Battle Reports in India. It is safe waters and can do about 1000 pts of rowing/plunder and assault for each BR. (during the skill boost)

Did an Assault, Plunder, Rowing grind this last boost. I was in India and did 3 Battle Reports in a row. Did about 6000, Assault, Plunder and 4000 skill points in Row. I made R12 Rowing. I also did one run of 20 R15 Bio maps in EA again.

Oover the last few weeks I did another run of Bio Maps and a couple Battle Reports grinding row which is now R12, Assault is now R14. and gained a 2000 more skill in Plunder. I also did a hundred Colosseum missions with my aide. My aide is now 191/195 and I made R15 gunfire. I will have tool be in Musketeer if I want to grind that more. Too bad the Musketeer growth only affects Reload and not Gunfire.

I am getting discouraged with SW and Legacy. I am trying to pull a SW in the North sea. I have 6 clues and need that last one. I have pulled maybe 60 or so SW and am now at 887 SW raised. Still no North Sea.

A Shipwreck raising competition started Mar 2, and i have left my Legacy clues at 6 and will keep raising SW till i get a North Sea one. Was already 30 SWs deep before the SW competition started. Took another 37 SW to finally get a SW from the North Sea. I immediately used the 7 clues all geared to finding the last 6 o'clock discovery. .. Nope.. re-discovered the 12 o'clock clue. Sigh.

I am 65 SWs into this and we have 4 more days to go. The top three prizes are choice of 3 ships. I am guessing I will finish in 11th place. I am raising around 5-6 SW per day. Oddly I am in the Pirate job using row to sail around the world. The only time i switch to Salvager job is if there is no land in site and I have no clue where the SW is.
Then by equipping the Boston College Thesis you are told the exact sea zone when you open the SW map.

While in EA raising a SW. I found Chongching in Boom so I decided to deliver goods there. Made 20 deliveries of musk and sandalwood. 50 goods per delivery. Reset, by sailing out of port till the city was not visible, then turned around and sailed/rowed back.
got three gifts from influential people. One was a duplicate EA shipbuilding techniques. The other gift was a "White Rod" which was a new item for my Memorial Album.
I am still missing 4 items from S. China and 4 items from Japan.
Still missing 4 gifts from Influential Figures from Chonching. will take another 200-300 deliveries and some luck to get them all.

Raised 93 SW in the competition. Tips for getting SWMP. I am in the Salvager job with the Ship Wreck Hunter title equipped and both Boston College Salvager job skills equipped. When I search a SW. I usually average 10 SWMPs as a reward when opening all the chests. In addition I get double credit for around 4 pieces when using the Title. That accounts for 14 pieces per SW. Then I need around another 14-15 SWMP to complete the map. So to Raise 10 wrecks I only need say 140-150 SWMP instead of 280-290.

The other key thing is that I can do land battles overnight in North America and collect about 30 SWPM /per toon so thats 60/day. During the SW race, the number of SWMP from all activities increased so I could get about 40/toon or +80SWMP per day. In the end even after raising +80 Wrecks, I still had over 1000 SWMP in various inventories.

During this week's skill grind, I made R13 Art trading, R15+2 Textile trade on my alt and did two BR in India to grind Rowing, Assault and Plunder. I did not level any but gained a few thousand skill points in each skill.

Here is a new one that I almost never post about. I was geared up as a pirate (job for skills, not Red Notoriety type) just grinding melee on India West Coast. A lone pirate engaged me and started to melee me. Since I was wearing my Melee gear, I thought I would give it a go. I had also set my Boston College and Oxford Skills to maximize melee attack/defense. It was an even match and we both lost maybe 50-70 crew after a few rounds. Since I was carrying Smoke Bombs of Retreat, I thought I would retreat and just sail out of the ring. After breaking melee, I used Surgery to put my crew back to near maximum. Oddly the Pirate did not! I decided to go back and melee him again. He shot at me and did not run, I repaired until I re-engaged. I tried timing my melee style choice to appear just before the resolution so he would not be able to have any advantage. In the end I managed to actually defeat this pirate. I knew the Pirate from before and he is a decent pirate. I obtained 1500 Honor and have a blue title now. NICE!

Short Update...
My computer crashed mid July, so I was working off my lab top for a while. Then my lab top crapped out. Purchased a new computer.
Loaded UWO.. tried running it and for whatever reason, It would constantly kick me out every 14 minutes. Stopped playing for 7 weeks or so. The issue seemed to resolve itself. I also purchased a new lab top, so I will get back to playing soon.
I have started to just cook in Boston and will not likely do much till I hit level 95 trade.

I worked on Legacy discoveries "Olympia" and am now down to my last one for this Theme. The key missing clue is the same super hard "Raise a Ship Wreck in the Strait of Gibraltar." This is super hard as ZERO of my last 84 SW are from the Strait of Gibraltar. This is the same problem for my "Rhodes the Port City" missing legacy discovery. The clue I need for that is to raise a SW in the North Sea, and only ONE of my last 84 SW was from the North Sea. Sigh.

Studying Land battle combos. This comes from one of CPC's logs or posts. I have not tested them but assume they still work.
1. Oil then a bomb or oil then fire torch will do about 2x the normal damage of simply using a bomb alone
2. Antidote then a heal item will restore 2x the amount of hp
3.oil then bomb or torch then 2-4 chain techs back to back has a chance of triggering Cout de Grace which does about 30% of life gauge and paralyzes the enemy.
4. Using a health over time item like taheebo juice then a heal will make the heal do 2x the amount

Using the basic (7 non clue specific hints) and tried to get the prophecy, I have come up with 2 o'clock, 4 o'clock x 4, 12 o'clock and 0 o'clock discoveries. I am debating if I should just do SW until i get another north sea SW.

Each day I grind up my pursuit production with a Handicraft R13 recipe in Hamburg at the Town Man (Shipwright). It only takes lumber and the processed lumber recipe.. and the shipwright casting book to make repair tools, processed lumber and lumber. I also continue to supply saltpeter and sugar as components for my aide production to make smoke balls.

It happened again. I was doing a BR in the Black sea and a pirate in a small ship attacked me solo. I had no guns and no plates and the pirate wanted to melee me. Oddly he attacked me in a small ship with around 150crew. My ship had 350 or so and my skills are not shabby. I defeated him. Later that day he tried again and managed to put me into great disorder. I was unable to stop it using leadership. He sailed into me and started melee. I was not wearing land battle gear, but I had a decent weapon equipped and of course lots of techs so I clicked on deck battle. The pirate ran around for 1 minute trying to evade my attacks before he was able to flee. I ended up with 1500 honor and another blue name.

Did 4 battle reports, 2 as cannoneer and 2 as Pirate. Refined my Assault skill and have grinded it back up to R6+2.

In between the Battle reports I did 2 SoW with some company mates and one new person I found on the UWO Discord Page. We failed both times. I will have to study the Leviathan and how to fix the panicked sailor status that prevents repair and surgery.
I died because the monster rammed my ship, but the other two players had "monster battle armament" as a skill on their ship. They held out well and died because we could not repair...

I will keep on working skills until the boost wears off. After that I intend to start on the new Legacy theme. I have still not found the last clue of the Rhodes Legacy at 6 o'clock. I am at 1032 SW and still have not found a SW in the North Sea in the last 50 or so.

last three days of the bonus grind. I collect 25 R15 Eco Recogniton maps and go out to Hangzhou to grind it. I gain anohter 5000 Eco Recogniton and end at 7800/15600 for that final level.

After eco recognition i spend 1h making deliveries to Chongching. 50 goods at a time, hoping to get a gift from Influential people. I make about 20 deliveries but do not gain any new MA items.

Now I am working on Trap Grind. While I am in Chongching, i run the Dungeon mid level 6 times to fill up on EA goods. I make no new discoveries from "Treasures on the Side of Buddah" My alt discovers Li Guang;s Bow, which I am still missing.

After I come back to Europe to sell the EA goods, I continue the trap grind in the Coliseum. I have made R12+2 refined Trap.

deserves it's own post. I did SoW from Candia with a company mate Munakoutei. He lent me a ship that was equipped with Monster Battle Armament. We brought a third player to assist us and two alts for repair. This was Munakoutei and my third try. We tried it on April 30th and May 1st and failed both times. The third player was an experienced SoW Monster Battle fighter. He gave me several tips. This was only the lowest monster, the regular Leviathan, not the burning or frozen Leviathan. It still took us a long time to wear the monster down, but we eventually won and I received the Leviathan Sail Crest. This crest opened a new MA page "Dragons of Phantom Seas."

Not sure if there is a MA page for rewards for ESF but I suspect there is and this is one of the last areas that I have not really participated in. I will keep trying to participate in ESF and the Academy Debates until I get whatever MA reward they have.

Did my regular grinding. Tried a second SoW vs. Monster. This time was the lowest level Cetus. There were only 2 of us and it crushed us like a bug.

The game crashed and I am having difficulty reloading the game on my computer. I am running it from my lab top, but that is far from ideal. The lab top is not in an ideal position and I have to move around to actually do things. I resolved to just take this time to do some mindless grinding. Things that I can do without much mouse clicking such as the rowing grind are at the top of the list... small crew, damaged sails, on minimum speed.. with a full cargo of food/water and some lumber. From San Francisco, I just head West.. and row!

In case you are wondering, I uninstalled UWO from my computer and tried to reload it from the Papaya play UWO for free button.. and it says... my version of internet explorer is too old. Update it and try again. I am running windows 7. when I try to upgrade internet explorer, it tries to get me to load the newest version of Chrome, Edge or Firefox.

I have been off since my game crashed. I am just doing land battles to up my aide's land battle xp and gain attack and defence points. I also do my collections in North America to get adventure xp. If you invest in the correct Rail Road, you can get upto a 50xp bonus for each action just like during the NA Thanksgiving festival. It is still subject to the 1h/day cap for collection, but the production and land battle xp bonus never ends. I have done a ridiculous number of Boston College and Oxford Theses, because of this bonus, while I was working up my aide's trade level.

It is likely I will only be playing at a fraction of my regular rate until the level 95 cap is introduced in Chapter 3. I will be getting a new computer in the next month or so and hopefully I can reload a new UWO to run from there.

I am finally back. Was off for 8 weeks or so with computer problems. I finally purchased a new computer and a new lab top. Oddly when I started with my new computer and downloaded a fresh UWO, I kept getting kicked off every 14 minutes.
Not 13 minutes and not +15 or some other random time. … Well the issue seemed to resolve itself and I am back to playing.

Since I got back, the new limit for levels is 95. I missed all the excitement as there was a huge skill/xp/fame bonus when the new 95 limit was released. It amazes me that 10 players or maybe a couple of players and their alts are already level 95 in adventure. I still have not figured out how to get 1m adventure xp per day !

There is also a new legacy quest available and some new reward chest for battles and a new pursuit production called Aether Seeker that goes with land battle.

The first thing I worked on is the new further discoveries that come with each new Legacy. They cost Sophia to take, but are really easy to do. I also unlock the Aether Seeker title and do the required production for 8 days in a row. The recipe they require to advance your Aether Seeker production skill is an R12 Alchemy Recipe at John Dee in London. I do the recipe with an outfit and emerald tablet and don’t waste money changing jobs.
Next I am working on the new Legacy theme “Alexandria the light of Wisdom”

There are two new Jobs; Capitaino and Viking. What is special about these two jobs is that Capitano is a trading job with rowing as a preferred skill and Viking is an adventure job with rowing as a preferred skill. Now I can much more easily grind my rowing skill.
It is currently R13. It should be refined in two to three months now.
There are also now 8 new Oxford skills available. 4 are related to Tow permits and the other two are Maritime. Since I normally do quite a bit of auto sailing and getting extra tow permits from the box #4 (from Lambell who appears randomly at the company colony)
I very quickly complete all 4 Oxford these that deal with tow permits and 2 that deal with Local Specialties Combo. (just buy some EA goods from an Aide Bazaar and sell it to the Market keeper to complete these in 20 minutes or so. ) I have 98 Oxford skills to choose from now. I
really like the auto Navigation Range increase. You can sail using more than 5 tow permits, greatly increasing the auto sail range. Turn on rowing at the same time and do some RL work while sailing.

Did a few more Battle reports in India. I completed the two new theses and obtain the new Oxford skills “Increased Criticals” and “Preemptive Strike”
Kept grinding my plunder, assault and rowing skills.
When the skill boost was not on, I finally pulled up a SW from the red sea and completed the Legacy Theme “ Alexandria Light of Wisdom. Out of the 9 themes, I have fully completed 7. The last two require SW as clues.
October 5
Thanksgiving Festival is on. After I do my standard collections and tow permits/unlock chests.. I spend the day raising SW. I am still looking for SW in the North Sea and Cape. I am at SW number 1087 and have not seen a SW in either of these two sea zones in the last 100.

While sailing I get my rowing up to R14 in the Viking Job. I don’t raise SW in the Salvager job as there is no need unless there is no land on the SW map and I need to be in Job and activate Salvager’s Knowledge to find out where the SW is. In general I have never failed to raise a SW and can tow a SW at full speed with my Cruise High Clipper with Exploration refit and Haul Assist.

There is a new feature in the game that happened when I was out of action for 7-8 weeks. You now randomly get a reward chest from Land Battles or Sea Battles. I have opened about 100 chests and gotten 1 inventory increase item (best reward by far) and several forging tools, armorsmith, weaponsmith, cannon and armoring
I will keep track of the rewards from now on and give a report after the next 100 chests.
Of course I will have to split between plain, normal , splendid, and sparkling chests.
You are limited to unlocking 5 points of chests per day. A plain chest is 1 pt, normal chest is 2 pt., splendid chest 3 pts, sparkling chests 4 pts. When you do as much BR and land battles as I do, you get cluttered with plain chests that I can never unlock. I have dumped over 400 plain chests from this toon so far and will never be able to unlock them all. Hopefully by finding out what the reward distribution is, I can figure out if it is better to open 1 plain or 2 normal chests etc.

Did another 20 SW.. no luck. Stopped to do some land battles so my 3rd toon would have some chests to open in my goal to do a distribution of rewards from maritime chests. Recorded Koxinga Papers in “Treasures Lurking in the Red Castle” in my Memorial Album.
I have dumped probably 1600 Plain Treasure Chests so far as you can tell, I do lots of land battles. Here is the distribution of 251 Plain chests opened so far.

I am getting frustrated with SW. I have probably done 100 SW and have not seen a SW in Cape nor North Sea. I am up to 1124 SW’s raised now.

Two more days.. I am up to 1136 SW now. So I think that I will skip trying SW’s and just do a cycle of the generic clues for the two themes that I am missing one clue and see if I can randomly get the correct missing discovery. I will keep track of the discoveries that I get. Hopefully if I do them 7 times, I will get the one missing clue to appear.

Discovered Lacquered Gakgung MA item “Treasure Hidden in Ruins” while doing Songsunri Ruins.

Did more trap grind in front of the different EA dungeons vs. the 5 NPC bunched there, and multiple Azuchi Castle Runs. Lots of maritime chests, but no MA items. Still missing two items I the “Treasure Hidden in the Ancient Castle” MA.

I do lots of 30 map “River Shark” Eco Recognition discoveries. Map in SF. Discovery just outside Hangzhou. I do this run on multiple days during the skill boost and finally get R15+2 Refined Eco Recognition.

The next grind is recognition. It is not as easy. The map is only R12 and comes from Anping and is discovered just west of Guatamala. I have to sail back to Panama, take the canal and report to Balboa in Portobelo. Then I take the canal back to Panama, sail past Guatamala and make the discovery again.
With the help of collection xp, repeating the same Archive maps, Same max xp Treasure Hunt, XP from so many SW, I make level 92 Adventure. I have collected an astounding 474 Custom Haul Rope, 229 Improved Haul Rope and 217 Custom Salvage Rope. (Improved Salvage Rope, I constantly place in company quarters for other company mates to do the Salvager Job Quest.)

Did some runs at Mt. Emi (Chongching) and discovered “Sancai Horse” and “Spring and Autumn Dagger” MA “Treasures on the Side of Buddah.” I also did +25 deliveries to Chongching hoping to get a reward from influential people. Only got 1 reward which was a duplicate of an item I received before.

Dumped another 200 plain treasure chests. I just can’t open them all. Over 1000 dumped so far.

Completed a BR in India with melee and worked more on my Plunder, Assault and Rowing skill.

Had another player ask me if there is a MA album for Palenque (Veracruz Dungeon)
Ran Palenque 23 floors and opened about 100 chests did not obtain any MA items on two players so I am assuming there is no MA for this dungeon. I also noticed there are not hidden passages with treasure or danger rooms.

Grinded Trap and Swordplay in Leshan Giant Buddha dungeon.. made 45 deliveries to Chongching, received 4 gifts from influential people. 3 were duplicates, the last one was a new MA item Tao River Inkstone. Nice!
